Here they are! When all of our previous styles sold out suddenly, we first considered just producing more of the same designs. Between the World and Me. I have wanted to read Ta-nehisi Coates for awhile. This was a very good introduction to his work, his background, and what drives him. Written as an essay to his son, this book digs into issues that face black men but affect everyone one of us. The message is loud and clear. If you aren’t part of the solution then you are part of the problem.
The Northern Reach is out March 2nd. I had a chance to read this one early and I’m so glad I got my hands on it. I loved the pace and variety of this book with several chapters that stood alone but were tied together by the place and different generations of several families. Winslow ties each story together brilliantly. The reader feels the place, the people, the highs and the lows of a small community.
My extra shiny library copy of The Four Winds. This is the second book I have read by Kristin Hannah. The Four Winds shows a family in various stages of crisis during the Great Depression of the 1930s. They are forced to leave their farm home in the Midwest, trying to find a way to survive in California but joining growing numbers of refugees. If you’ve read The Grapes of Wrath, you have an idea of the challenges they will face along the way.
